Kelsea Chatburn

Kelsea is a self-taught artist based in Toronto, Canada.

Born in Korea and raised in California, her work is shaped by a cross-cultural perspective and a deep-rooted appreciation for place. Drawing from her travels, Kelsea transforms personal photographs into painterly meditations on landscapes, architecture, and meals — everyday moments turned timeless.

Working primarily in watercolour and gouache, she layers composition, texture, and color to explore how memory lives in the details. Her paintings serve as quiet studies of the shapes and hues that make certain places unforgettable, often echoing the nostalgia we feel for the spaces, places, and people we love most.
