Shep West

A newly designed home by Nicole Costa for LUX Design Inc.

Being a new development in the heart of midtown Toronto, the client's pied-à-terre called for some character. Through personalized accents like lime wash walls and custom furniture, they wanted to prioritize a meaningful art collection to inject color and life into the space.

Services provided: sourcing, procurement, curation, framing, and installation.

The Result —

Statement Silhouettes

The interior was primarily grounded in neutrals. The client was keen to incorporate color to add some warmth and personality. We landed on a hero focal point piece, placed in the kitchen and visible from the entryway, to guide the eye and offer the illusion of a more expansive space.

Energy in Every Room

While color was a priority in high volume rooms for frequent entertaining, we wanted the bedroom to continue to evoke a calm and serene energy. Each area of the home offered a distinct vibe to compartmentalize each room and complement its use cases.

Conscious Character

The client was keen to collect from diverse artists. We landed on a collection featuring Natalia Nicole Rodriguez - a Latina artist from Puerto Rico; Marie Alexander - a BIPOC artist from Texas; and Victoria Sequeira - a Portuguese artist from Toronto.
