Anna Beurskens / Wrapped Panel 100
Anna Beurskens / Wrapped Panel 100
Anna Beurskens is an American born artist with her BFA in Architecture and Design. She has made a career of being an interior designer and artist in San Francisco, California where she currently lives and works.
Her work exists at the intersection of craft, design, and fine art. Working primarily in fiber, she draws inspiration from traditional crafts like quilting and weaving.
The series Wrapped Panels explores color, pattern, and texture with reclaimed materials. Anna describes her process as meditative — a state of flow. Each panel is wrapped in rows upon rows — coloring the wooden panel with each length of fiber. Sometimes the work is meticulously planned out, other times Anna works intuitively, effortlessly creating with the fibers at hand.
