Emma Enright is a textile designer and artist from Hamilton, Ontario. Emma received her Bachelor of Design with a major in textiles from the Ontario College of Art and Design University, Toronto.
Her series of work investigates the materiality of textiles with a specific emphasis on weaving. Embodying traditional weaving techniques, she creates contemporary handwoven artwork. Her woven designs evoke and contextualize ideas reminiscent of the natural world encompassing a neutral palette and tone. Emma works off of several different looms to create her designs and infuses contemporary design motifs to further investigate and and explore her work.
Emma has created custom commissioned artworks for the Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto and CBOE Canada. She has participated in the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Design Toronto and has attended a number of artist residencies including the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. She has participated in various solo and group exhibitions, and her work can be found in both private and public collections. Emma continues to create her work from her textile studio at the Cotton Factory in Hamilton.
