Gbemi Adesanya / Into the Void
Gbemi Adesanya is a multimedia sculptural artist based in New York. Her practice embraces a multipronged material approach, allowing her work to balance fragility, longevity, and spatial and emotional resonance through form. Her work exists between the imagined and the physical, pairing futuristic silhouettes with tactile, grounded surfaces.
At the core of Gbemi’s practice is creative curiosity, expressed through continuous experimentation with mixed media and the dynamic interplay of mediums. Her process merges technical precision and intuition, allowing her work to occupy the space between intention and spontaneity.
Influenced by curated interiors and architectural environments, Gbemi’s work emphasizes dialogue with contemporary spaces and collaboration with interior designers. Her sculptures have been featured in several exhibitions and commissioned for notable corporate and hospitality clients, and are collected across the United States and internationally.
