Beatriz Salazar / East to West

Beatriz Salazar is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Manhattan Beach, California. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Architecture and eventually returned to her roots in art to reconnect with her passion for hands-on creativity. 

Guided by her love for texture, color, and the natural world, Beatriz’s work explores the intersection of imagination and authenticity, resulting in pieces that are as vibrant and dynamic as her own journey. Whether through sculpture, painting, or design, she strives to create art that invites others to reconnect with their own sense of wonder and possibility.

Beatriz Salazar's newest series is a vibrant exploration of movement, contrast, and subtle surprise. Lines sweep and pivot across each surface, as positive and negative space reverse roles and solid forms dissolve shadows of the lines that formed them. Color appears in restrained yet lively bursts — small, intentional inflections that shift the rhythm without overwhelming the composition. Pattern gathers in tactile pockets and quiet passages, activating the surface with gentle pulses rather than overt decoration. At times, faint traces of a grid emerge only as fragments, suggesting structure without imposing it. The result is work that feels playful yet composed, energized by subtle eruptions of color and pattern within a balanced, dynamic field.
