Melanie Cheung / When I Had All the Time in the World
Melanie Cheung is a Canadian contemporary abstract artist of Chinese and British descent based in Hamilton, Ontario. Her work explores human nature and the quiet, unspoken aspects of existence. Through fluid layers of paint and mixed media, she examines emotions that are often difficult to define. Colour and organic forms play a central role in her practice, shaping subtle, introspective narratives.
Originally from Toronto, Melanie holds a Bachelor of Design in Fashion from Toronto Metropolitan University. She spent over a decade in Montreal working in the fashion industry before relocating to Hamilton in 2020. Her paintings are held in private collections in Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
