Unpopular Opinion
A co-curated exhibit by Tacit and Abbozzo Gallery
32 Sousa Mendes Street, Toronto
December 12 - January 24
By women, for everyone
Tacit is an online gallery and art consultancy dedicated to women artists.
Abbozzo Gallery is an esteemed brick-and-mortar gallery with over 30 years of operation, recently relocating to Toronto’s west end.
The two join forces to curate an exhibit featuring the work of six contemporary women artists.
Show Statement
This exhibition brings together women artists working across painting, textile, and mixed media, each unapologetically disrupting expectations of what art by women “should” be. From quiet subversions to loud confrontations, the works challenge dominant narratives, question the familiar, and reject the need for palatable agreement.
Unpopular Opinion is not about provocation for its own sake. It’s about the freedom to inhabit the uncomfortable, the messy, the misread. Drawing outside the proverbial lines. If art is a means of communication, let these artworks be the loudest voices in the room.
