Anji Woodley

Anji is a South African-Canadian mixed media contemporary artist.

Anji’s work is inspired by the natural world and the materials it provides her as an artist. Her African roots also fuel her inspiration, from the country’s diversity of colour, people, and plants.

To challenge throwaway culture within today’s society, Keep Your Receipts is a series of artworks that use receipts, discarded packaging, recycled paper bags, tissue paper, and scraps of paper from offcuts of previous works. The artworks also uses remnants of ink, paint, pen, pencil, handmade watercolour, and paper sourced from a Montreal paper mill made from t-shirt fibres.
