ShopMy Headquarters
New York City
ShopMy enlisted Tacit to curate the art collection for their brand new two and a half story office — envisioned as a creative sanctuary and true home away from home for their team. The curation strategy balanced site-specific custom commissions with carefully selected existing works, celebrating both emerging and established artists. Each touch point was thoughtfully considered to reflect ShopMy's eclectic approach to curation and innovative brand ethos.
Services provided: narrative development, artist sourcing, collection curation, liaising with architects and lighting designers, commission facilitation, procurement, framing, installation management, and more.
The Living Room —
Life Imitates Art
This site-specific commission by Leighton Bannock feels like two friends sharing a recommendation — a concept that is innately central to the ShopMy ecosystem.
The Perfect Pairing
Perfectly accompanied by this large scale piece by Tyler Guinn, the two pieces in conversation feel like they were made for one another, when in reality they serendipitously came together. Curatorial cohesion at its finest.
Architectural Fluency
We worked closely with the project's architects and lighting designers to ensure each piece was selected with intentional consideration for spatial cohesion and design integrity.
The Entrance —
A site-specific wall sculpture by Eline Baas commands the entry — a refined composition of resin, wax, and wood that works in conversation with the surrounding natural materials. Its understated presence anchors the space while honoring the subtle sophistication throughout the ShopMy office.
The Boardroom —
Brand Story
In this custom commission, Alastair Martin employs mixed media techniques to create a composition reminiscent of the mayflower — Massachusetts's state flower, where ShopMy's three co-founders first met.
Narrative Woven In
Seeing as ShopMy started in Boston, we collected and commissioned many works by Boston artists. These four commissioned pieces by Miguel Caba depict specific Boston botanicals, painted onto carved wooden wall reliefs.
Conversation Pieces
The boardroom is where distinguished guests, investors, and key stakeholders convene. These conversation pieces are integral to the space, thoughtfully curated to elevate the environment and reflect the refined nature of gatherings that unfold here.
The Kitchen —
Easter Eggs
This commissioned work on canvas by Hayley Axelerad layers intricate detail with hidden references to pivotal milestones and moments throughout the ShopMy story, as well as the three co-founders pictured within.
Unconventional Curation
The brief for the entire collection was to be anything but corporate. This still life by Maxine McCrann brings vibrancy to the collection, selected for its eclectic color palette and playful composition. Maxine was born and raised around the corner from the office, and is largely inspired by food, connectivity, and hospitality.
Fun & Familiar
Familiar artists like Michael McGregor resonate with the team and were selected as a connection point between the art, team members, and guests. Enhancing both employee and guest experience simultaneously, creating an environment where curation becomes a shared conversation.
The Shared Workspace —
ShopMy is so deeply connected to fashion and individuality. We procured five striking pieces by Yvonne Robert following her exhibition curated by Anthony Vaccarello, Creative Director of Yves Saint Laurent.
The Phone Rooms —
Materiality Mix
Phone rooms are typically an area team members go to when we're in need of focus and quiet. For the art, we played with scale and monochromatic palettes in an effort to clear the mind, while still infusing inspiration at every touch point.
Monochromatic Moments
The monochromatic palette demonstrates how restraint and boldness coexist. We leaned into the serenity brought to life by the primarily green palette, using art as another means to add texture and character to the small space.
