Alison Kruse is an oil painter from Princeton, New Jersey, and is now based in Toronto, Ontario after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queen’s University.

Alison’s work conveys a journal-like sense of intimacy, using painting as a form of reporting to document people, places, and feelings.  Guided by experimentation, freedom, and intuition,  each piece is emotionally driven while maintaining both agency and authenticity. Her jewel-like paintings possess a distinctive energy, indifferent to explanation yet inviting each viewer’s unique interpretation.

Alison’s work has been exhibited in Santa Fe, Toronto, Brooklyn, and London, and she is a two-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant.
