Alison Kruse / Used To
Alison Kruse is a Toronto-based artist who attended Queen’s University Fine Art Program.
Working in both photo collage and oil paint, her work explores the survivalist concept of Survive and Thrive in an attempt to better understand emotion and what it means to thrive. Alison works in photo collage illustrations and oil painting. Her work is inspired by the distinct characteristics that make a place unique and how they evoke emotion.
In addition to her creative practice, Alison studied Communication Design at Emily Carr and the British Columbia School of Technology. She has attended Gulkistaad residency in Iceland, Obras Foundation in the Netherlands, and Ateliers Fourwinds in France.
Alison exhibited at the esteemed art fair, Art Toronto, and was awarded the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Grant in 2023.
