Jaime Lovejoy is an abstract artist based in San Francisco, California. Anchored in a state of meditation, heavily diluted acrylics are poured across the canvas in thin, veiled layers, shaped by tilts, turns, and gestural movement.
The Changing Shapes collection explores new beginnings, transition, and expansion related to the passing of days, seasons, and years. Honoring the rhythm of life, layered over time, watching the shifts of light, color and age with appreciation and purpose. Reflection translates into color and shape revealing itself onto the canvas, evolving through placement and transition of the work itself.
The ARBRE series examines this idea through the rings of a tree, using them as a record of time and a reflection of the stories held within—weather, seasons, growth, and change. The work is further inspired by recent travels to Barcelona and the influence of artists such as Miró and Picasso, ultimately leading to the Catalan word for tree, arbre.
