Rebecca Hubert / Imagined Anthuriums

Rebecca Hubert / Imagined Anthuriums
Rebecca Hubert is a self-taught Toronto-based artist.
Working primarily with oil on board, her art features soft colours and detailed texture. Predominantly painting demure scene scapes, she adds whimsy to every-day objects and simple pleasures. Her pieces are created in a simple, impressionistic style usually achieved through both brush and palette knife.
Rebecca's practice takes place in her sun-drenched studio in Toronto — one of those spaces that always seem to have immaculate lighting. It's no wonder she creates pieces with such vibrance. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, this piece is simply, yet impactful. It feels like the artwork equivalent to those first few days of summer — when we're coming alive again, out of hibernation and into the wild.
