Isabella Ramirez is a Colombian-Canadian contemporary artist based in Toronto, working primarily across oil and acrylic. A graduate of OCAD University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting and a Minor in Illustration, her practice is anchored by a deep exploration of the connection between the human body and the natural world, operating on the belief that nature resides within us and helps shape who we are.

Through rich botanical imagery and organic forms, her work serves as a reminder of the gift of her cultural heritage and a celebration of the natural environments that inform her evolving artistic voice. Shaped by her Colombian roots, eight years in Canada, and a lifelong immersion in art, music, and culture, Ramirez bridges her life abroad with memories of her childhood weaving personal history and the natural world into a cohesive visual language.

Isabella Ramirez' Butterfly Series uses the butterfly as a symbol of movement, fragility, and change, the ability to shed the old and become something new. It explores hidden parts of life, inviting us to look inside and discover our most delicate and quiet feelings. By seeing time as a circle where beginnings and endings meet, the collection reflects personal growth, mixing feelings of nostalgia, uncertainty, and the wish to move forward without forgetting the past.
