Gbemi Adesanya / Vale

Gbemi Adesanya is a New York–based Nigerian sculptor and multimedia artist. Entirely self-taught, she works primarily with thermoformed acrylic alongside plaster, clay, and resin to create abstract wall sculptures that explore how color, reflection, texture, and light shape the experience of form.

Gbemi’s work exists at the intersection of contemporary sculpture, interior design, and collectible design. Her sculptures have been exhibited in galleries in New York and commissioned for notable corporate and hospitality spaces including Shopify, The Ritz-Carlton, and ARIA Resort & Casino. Her work also appears in an upcoming Netflix production and is held in collections throughout the United States and internationally.

Gbemi Adesanya’s States of Form Collection presents a single sculptural language expressed through four distinct material states: Metallic, Iridescent, Chromatic, and Earthen. Each state reimagines the same visual vocabulary through different surface conditions, allowing light, color, reflection, and texture to fundamentally alter how each sculpture is experienced. Vale is Earthen.

Although each piece is static, it is never visually fixed. Light conditions, viewing angle, and proximity continually reshape the experience of the work, revealing new contours, reflections, and relationships over time.

This wall sculpture comes ready to hang, with a wall hook or screw sufficient for installation.
